International approach to diversity (gender, culture and geography).

Many clients have a healthy mandate for diversity so approximately 40% of searches we are retained on have a specific diversity objective in addition to the high standards of experience each role demands. The standard is simple - we look for the best in the market and on the short list, 50% need to be diverse. We have a go-to network of senior business leaders that refer us to great diverse candidates that they have managed or mentored in their careers.

Diversity can be defined differently from client to client. Because of our close relationship with our clients, we know what diversity means to them.

  • Gender diversity - Our clients require gender-diverse management teams. Our vast network with top level women and men who believe and work hard to ensure this diversity helps us to identify top talent across functions and industries. Market-leading female mentors help us define the issues facing women in different businesses on an on-going basis.
  • Cultural diversity - We share with our clients the belief that a culturally diverse top management team is required to work in the international marketplace. Within companies, cultural diversity can mean ethnicity, nationality, and/or strategic thinking. Because we partner with our clients so closely, we recognize which type of person can work within the organization yet bring fresh perspectives to the business.
  • Geographic diversity - Sometimes our clients will ask us to strengthen their bench in certain high-growth markets. We do this by targeting talent with experience in a certain geography - AsiaPac, Eastern Europe, LatAm - for an opportunity at our client that will start at a regional or global headquarters, and will return back to that specific geography in a leadership role.
